Purpose -- the project is a pole that is telescoping in design so it extends out to 12' max. The users can attach various end-effectors to the pole to manipulate / move a package or object from a stand-off disctance. The end effectors must be able to attach in the field quickly with no hand tools. There are static end effectors (non moving) and dynamic end effectors (moving -- controlled by the same handle / lever / cable). We want as much composite material as possible - i.e., the less metal the better (some metal is fine). Must be very strong and lightweight. We want to lift 15 pounds with the gripper at 12' for example. More details below.
All drawings / designs were done in Solid Works so we can export the files in a variety of formats as need - for example IGIS, parasolid......
1) The drawings are not 100% correct -- since they were done, we are now using Jacov poles and clamps instead of the clamps / connectors shown. Exact size to be determined by Jacov. Any dimension can be changed / modifed if it makes it easier and less expensive to fabricate. As long as we achieve the same goal. Weight is important - want light weight.
2) Must be able to operate in extreme environmental conditions (say -10F) so composite cannot be something that gets brittle and breaks in the cold. Extreme hot is say the desert - 120F.
3)Top level pole assembly Drawing 1.
3) Static end effectors (no motion required):5) Right now we need small quantity - up to 12 kits - but after those are tested, the plan is to sell more and bulk orders (maybe orders of 25 each time).
6) Note - all dimensions are approximate (we can change any dimension - size, shape, angle, thickness....as needed if it make sit easier to fabricate) as long as the general idea / purpose is met and it is strong material.
7) Note that the pole clamp / interface shown is old design -- new design will interface with carbon fiber pole - exact sizes to be determined by final Jacov pole design - so no clamp needed - jacov clamp will be used.
8) Video of pole - non telescoping design - just for reference - design will now be telescoping pole avi file
